FAQS

DATE OF POSTING

February 2025 for the province of Quebec

First Sight app works only in public places and allows you to see the profiles of other single users in the same place at the time you are there at the same time. At a restaurant, at a show, in the mountains, at the gym, etc., you will be able to view the profiles of other users present there and start a conversation, in person, after having agreed via our features. A consent framework is provided to define whether a user can approach another user verbally in order to respect each other's space. Once you leave the place, your profile is no longer visible in the application and you no longer have access to any other profile either. There are no more possible interactions and it becomes inactive. You must give your consent to display your profile in a place.

Is it possible to see the exact position and movements of a user?

No. It is not possible to see the exact location of individuals or track their movements via our features. For example, at a ski mountain, you will not be able to see, via the application, which ski slope another user is on. Our functionality lies in the principle that if you are in a public place, you will only have access to the profile sheets of users who are also somewhere in this place, and this, only if you are there also without seeing their position or their shift. No trips are recorded by us at any time. Only an action taken by you can make you active and visible in the list of user profiles for a location.

Is it possible to see the profiles of people present in a public place without being there?

No.

We want to encourage in-person first impressions.

It is also a question of security and respect for the privacy of users.

You will see user profiles only if you are also in the location.

Can I use First Sight app from home?

No. The application allows exchanges only in a public place, and only with other users present in the same public place at the same time as you are there. Once you leave this location, your profile is no longer visible on the application and you no longer see any profiles of other users.

Is it possible to see how many users are present in a given location before going there?

Yes.

You will see the number of users on site who meet your criteria, but you will not see their username or profile. These details will be available to you once you arrive at the location.

What criteria will we be able to filter before going to a place?

As we try to offer an experience very close to organic encounters, the criteria that can be selected before going to a place will be age, gender or non-gender and sexual orientation. It is once there that you will have access to the profiles of other users who meet your criteria where more information will be available such as a short text, as well as a photo.

Where will I be able to use First sight app?

The app is only functional in a public place that meets our criteria. Examples of places: restaurants, gyms, cinemas, shopping centers, boutiques, sports center, outdoor center, cafes, campuses, dance halls, sports halls, bars, amusement centers, social club premises and parks.

Can I choose when to show my profile or not?

We know that being in a public place doesn't necessarily mean it's a good time for you to meet people. You will choose when your profile is visible, since you will have to take action, via a feature, each time you want to show yourself in a public place where you are. No automatic posting will be done.

Is First sight app an application where geolocation must be enabled at all times?

No.

Will I be notified if someone likes my profile and is there a time frame for approaching someone in person?

Only a blind bilateral agreement will let you know that a user has liked your profile. If you like an individual's profile, they will not be informed. However, if the same user also likes your profile, you will both receive a notification to let you know. Thus, you will know that they have shown interest in your profile only when both of you have shown interest. This notification will act as consent to be able to approach another user in person. If you are in a large place, it will be possible to give you a meeting point in the same place in a visible and busy place. This is the framework that we are putting in place to ensure consent. Remember that the objective of First sight app is to create face-to-face contacts between single people and to allow a feeling of the other's vibe. This involves face-to-face exchanges.

Will messaging be available?

A messaging box will open when two people have liked each other's profile. The chat room offers a limited number of possible messages. The goal of First sight app is to create voice contacts between single people. This messaging box will also be accessible for a limited time. Remember that the goal of First sight app is to create voice contacts between single people and to allow a feeling of the vibe of the other.

Will it be possible to report a user?

We hope that as respectful adults, our users will respect the physical space of others, and do so in a courteous manner. However, should a person become inappropriate, a behavior reporting system is in place.

Is it safe?

Whether you show up as single on our app in a public place surrounded by your friends or you are in a relationship but go to a restaurant alone where people can see that you are solo at a table, the context is exactly the same in terms of safety. Being a user shown on First Sight app does not mean that you are alone in a public place.

The basic principles for maintaining a safe environment are the same as for any time you are in a public place:

- do not go into isolated areas with an unknown person;

-we take the time to get to know a person before meeting up, elsewhere, in a private place;

-when leaving a public place to go to another place or to your home, you walk in lit, safe or accompanied places;

-all this, regardless of being single on First Sight app or not.

Could a person walk around a neighborhood and see who is single in the residences?

No. The app is functional only in a public place that meets our criteria. Examples of places: restaurants, gyms, cinemas, shopping centers, boutiques, sports center, outdoor center, cafes, campuses, dance halls, sports halls, bars, amusement centers, social club premises and parks. This allows you to see the users present in these places only.

Will First Sight app be free?

You will be able to see the number of people meeting your criteria who are present in each location before you go there, or on site, for free.

You will be able to see the profiles of people present in a place, once you are also there, via an innovative monthly package proposal. For people using the application more sporadically, a piece package will be available to meet everyone's needs. With us, you pay for what you get. No more.

Will First Sight app be available in all countries and regions?

The application will be available first in Quebec, then throughout Canada. A deployment phase is planned in France. The third deployment phase is planned in the United States.

Why is it not free?

Running a mobile app involves many interactions with servers to support it. Every time a user taps on their screen to perform actions, it generates costs. We also need to have a team of developers and programmers who ensure its proper functioning 7 days a week. Did you also know that Apple takes a 30% commission on each subscription transaction for all apps on the App store?

Even though we would have thought it was great too, we couldn't offer you this experience for free.
